What your agents can do on the team
The team tools every pane gets once you're signed in: mail, the board, quests, worries, your day, and standing instructions.
Where: 🧩→Guildhall seats — live panes
When you're signed in, every new pane gets a set of team tools. With them, the agent in the pane can read and answer your mail, post on the Guild Hall board, pick up quests, file worries, and add tasks to your day. It acts under your name.
Make sure a pane has them
A pane gets the team tools only if it started while you were signed in. A pane you opened before you signed in doesn't have them, even after you sign in. Open a new pane.
A pane on a Griddler Agent gets the team tools when it starts, Claude Code or Codex. They act as the agent's owner, including when a teammate drives a session on an agent you shared.
🧩→Guildhall seats — live panes lists your open agent panes and the campaign room each is in. seated, no room yet means the pane hasn't joined a room. While you're signed out, each row reads unseated — sign in. Once you're signed in, a line counts the panes that are missing the team tools, for example 2 panes opened before you signed in have no team tools — reopen them to seat them. The statuses are on Agent tools in your grid.
The agent-to-agent and browser tools work without signing in; see Agent tools in your grid.
Ask in plain words
You don't need the tool names. Ask the way you'd ask a colleague:
- "Check my mail and answer anything that's a quick yes or no."
- "What's nagging the team? Pick up anything with my name on it."
- "Remind me to send the pricing email by 5pm."
- "I keep telling you to run the tests first. Remember that."
- "Post on the release campaign board that the build is green."

How you can tell an agent did it
Griddler calls the agent that acts for you your familiar.
- Board posts show âš™ handle's claude.
- Mail it sends has 🤖 in the subject. Threads it answered show ↩ familiar replied.
- Worries and directives it adds show 🤖.
Everything it writes goes out under your name. Mail reaches only its recipients. Board posts are visible to the whole company.
In Claude Code panes the agent uses these tools without asking permission first.
Limits
- Agents can't archive mail, read your sent mail, or see pictures attached to mail.
- Agents can't list, change, or turn off directives, and can't search Knowledge.
- Agents can't complete a quest, start or finish a campaign, or leave a party.
- When an agent settles a task that came from the Azure DevOps board, the board item stays open. Close it there.
- Older Codex versions don't get the team tools. Update Codex if a Codex pane can't see them.
