Griddler Social
Sign in with your River Logic account to get team mail, the Tavern, your Today panel, the team task list, and team tools for the agents in your panes.
Where: Top bar→Sign in
Griddler works on its own, signed out. Signing in with your River Logic account adds the team side: mail, the people you work with, and the shared work list. The full list by sign-in state is in Signed in or not.
What signing in adds
- Mail: an inbox in the top bar, threads, replies, pictures and group chat.
- Hand mail to a session: send a message straight into a Claude Code or Codex pane, or ask what it wants from you.
- The Tavern: team chat, who's online, and what everyone just shipped.
- Today: what's assigned to you, what you shipped this week, mail waiting on you, and your own to-do list.
- Tasks and worries: the team's triage list and the list of things nagging people.
- Directives: standing instructions every new session starts with.
- Knowledge: find who knows about a topic.
- Guild Hall: the team board, campaigns and quests.
- Team tools for agents: agents in your panes can read and send mail, file worries and post to the board.
- Peek and co-op: watch a teammate's pane, or run a session together.
Standup and posts and the phone app work without signing in.
Use any of the three Sign in buttons. They all do the same thing.
| Where | What you click |
|---|---|
| The top bar | Sign in, at the right end. It disappears once you're signed in. |
| Settings→Account | Sign in |
| The Welcome to Griddler page, row Account | Sign in |
Click Sign in
Your browser opens the River Logic sign-in page. The top-bar button reads Waiting for browser… and Settings reads Waiting for browser sign-in….
Sign in with your @riverlogic.com address
The browser tab then says Griddler login OK — close this tab.
Check Settings
Settings→Account→Status reads Signed in as and your address.
Griddler keeps only an encrypted sign-in token on your machine. It renews itself in the background, so you sign in once per machine.
Set the name teammates see in the Tavern in Settings→Account→Alias. Leave it blank to use your handle.
If sign-in fails
The top-bar button changes to Sign in — failed, retry. Hover it to see why.
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| Login timed out — try again. | The browser step took longer than 3 minutes. Click Sign in again. |
| OS encryption unavailable — cannot store the login safely. | Your system has no keyring for Griddler to store the token in. On Linux, install and unlock a keyring, then try again. |
| callback server (:17872): … | Another program on this machine is using the port Griddler signs in through. Close it and try again. |
Sign out
Settings→Account→Sign out. Griddler deletes the stored token and the team features stop loading.
Your browser stays signed in to your River Logic account, so the next Sign in may finish without asking for your password.
When the sign-in expires or you're offline
| Situation | What you see |
|---|---|
| Your network drops | You stay signed in. Status reads Signed in as your address (offline — will reconnect). Team panels show can't reach the sign-in service until the network is back. |
| The sign-in expires or is revoked | Status reads Signed out and the top-bar Sign in button comes back. Team panels say your sign-in expired — sign in again. Click Sign in. |
The Doctor shows the same state under Onboarding, with the reason.
Things to know after you sign in
- Panes you opened before signing in don't get the team tools. Agents in them can't read or send mail or use the board. Open a new pane. See Team tools for agents.
- No restart needed. Mail, the 🍺 Tavern button, and the 😟 and ✅ counts appear a few seconds after your first sign-in.
- Only @riverlogic.com addresses work. Any other address shows Signed in as …, but nothing loads.
- The Account card here is your River Logic account. It is separate from the Claude Code and Codex logins your panes run under; those are in Accounts and usage.
