Remote lets another device reach the panes on this computer. The Griddler iPhone app uses it to show your panes, type into them, read your mail, and notify you when a pane is waiting. Remote doesn't need sign-in. The phone connects straight to your computer, so both have to be on the same network or on Tailscale.

The Griddler app for iPhone and iPad is handed out through Apple's TestFlight, not the App Store.

New builds show up in TestFlight, which tells you when one is ready; tap Update there. A TestFlight build stops opening after 90 days, so keep it updated. What changed in each build is in the release notes.

The dialog lists this computer's addresses, marked Tailscale — works anywhere or local network, each with Copy. Any SSH client can connect with them. Once started, Remote starts again each time you open Griddler. Click Stop to turn it off.

Pair your iPhoneCopy Anchor Link

To add a computer without the code, tap Enter manually and fill in Name, Address (Tailscale 100.x or LAN IP), Port, and Remote password. The app's port is the one under Griddler phone app in the Remote dialog, one higher than the SSH port.

Your computers are listed under YOUR COMPUTERS. Press and hold one for Make Primary (the app connects to it on open), Edit, or Delete. On the primary computer the first item reads Remove Primary.

To move your computers to another phone, tap ⋯ beside +:

• Export all… saves every computer to a file, griddler-computers. The file holds each computer's Remote password, so keep it private.
• Import from file… adds the computers in a file. A computer with the same address and port replaces the one you have.

• Pane chips across the top switch between panes. A dot shows each pane's state.
• Type into Message Claude… and send, or tap the microphone to dictate.
• The key bar sends esc, tab, ⇧tab, ^C, the arrow keys, and ⏎, for menus and prompts.
• Copy last copies the agent's last reply.
• Split view shows two panes at once, or four on iPad.

Tap the envelope to see new mail. Open a message to reply under Reply to name and tap Send reply. Mark all read clears the list.

Send to a session puts the message in a pane you pick. It shows Pasted on the pane's input line, not submitted. Press ⏎ on the phone when you want the agent to act on it.

Mail reaches the phone while Griddler on your computer is receiving mail.

When the app isn't open on the phone, your computer sends a notification to it:

• pane needs permission when an agent is asking before it runs something.
• pane is waiting on you when an agent has finished and is waiting.
• 📬 claude-mail from name when mail arrives.

Apple Watch, widget, and share sheetCopy Anchor Link

• Apple Watch lists your sessions. Open one to see the last reply with Show last response, answer in Reply to Claude…, or send ⏎ Enter or Esc.
• Add the Griddler complication to a watch face. Tapping it opens Griddler on the watch. It doesn't show a count.
• The widget shows how many panes are waiting on you and how many are working, or all idle.
• Send to Claude in the iPhone share sheet sends what you're sharing to a session. Pick one under Pick a session, add a note, and choose whether to Send immediately.

• The app needs iOS 17 or later. The Apple Watch app needs watchOS 10 or later.
• There's no Android app. An SSH app on Android can connect to Remote.
• Dictation understands US English only.
• After 5 wrong passwords, Remote locks that device out for 30 seconds, doubling with each further miss up to 15 minutes.
• If the app says Couldn't reach Griddler — is Remote on, and Tailscale up on both ends?, check that Remote is listening and both devices are on the same network or on Tailscale.
